Person Centred Counselling & Psychotherapy
For me, Person Centred Counselling means I offer a therapeutic counselling partnership which is based on solid foundations of empathy, respect, and acceptance. The partnership is warm, attentive, open and honest. Offering you time and space to explore who you are without judgement, criticism or advice.
I will do my best to understand your world and be with you as you begin to make sense of it. We will work together, tailoring the therapeutic process so you are able to focus on what is important to you. Helping you feel or express emotion with understanding and insight. Rediscovering your sense of self and empowering you to make decisions or changes that enable personal growth, resilience, recovery or a sense of peace within your world.
You are your own best expert and given the right conditions and time you can become more resourceful and content with being you.
The Counselling Room
We'll begin the counselling relationship by establishing a counselling agreement. We will tailor the agreement to your needs. We'll discuss it and work within its boundaries. I'll also ask you for some basic contact details so I can be in touch if need be between sessions. All information is treated in accordance with The Data Protection Act (1998) and is held in strict confidence.
The space is then yours to bring whatever you need to bring. It may just come out in a rush or you may have very specific things you want to talk about. I will be guided by what is important to you and to your pace. Therapy is challenging and at times you might feel vulnerable. I will work sensitively and ethically to help you find your way.
Therapy is usually weekly and this helps the therapeutic partnership to establish quickly. Building trust, openness and connection. However, I will work with what you are able to do and support your decisions for your own therapy. I work with clients over the short and long term.
If you wish to work using a more structured approach, integrative counselling is also offered.
Individuals per hour: £55.00
Couples 90 minutes: £75.00
Payment is by cash taken during the counselling session. Please note I am unable to offer debit or credit card payments currently.

I'd much rather work with clients than charge a fee, so do let me know in good time. Thank you.
